Coal ash contains arsenic, mercury, cadmium, lead but the EPA says the water is safe to drink. Tell that to the dead fish downstream.

Doesn't look like anybody's cleaning up this mess.

What's ironic is that the TVA project was a government project to recover from the First Great Depression. Perhaps the government will put people to work cleaning up this mess to help recover from the Current Great Depression.
